Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

GradsLink is a professional networking platform that helps recent graduates connect with peers, discover entry-level job opportunities, and find mentors. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We wrote it in plain language so it's easy to understand.

Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored securely).
  • Profile information: details you add to your profile, such as your university, major, graduation year, headline, bio, skills, location, and links to LinkedIn or GitHub.
  • Job and application data: jobs you save or apply to, application statuses, notes, interview dates, and interview prep checklists.
  • Messages and posts: content you post to the feed or send through GradsLink messages.
  • Marketplace listings: items you list for sale, trade, or giveaway, including any contact details you choose to share.
  • Referral and mentorship data: referral codes you use or share, and mentorship requests you send or receive.
  • Usage information: how you interact with GradsLink, such as pages visited and actions taken, collected to improve the platform.

How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your account and profile.
  • To show you relevant jobs, companies, mentors, and networking opportunities.
  • To let you track applications, message other members, and post to the community feed.
  • To operate the marketplace and referral programs.
  • To send service emails (such as interview reminders or mentor notifications) and important account alerts.
  • To keep the platform safe, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Who can see your information

Your profile and feed posts are visible to other GradsLink members so the community can connect. Private data — like your applications, notes, messages, and marketplace contacts — is only visible to you and the people you share it with. Employers can see job postings you apply to, but only the information you choose to submit. Administrators may access limited data to keep the platform running and to prevent abuse.

How we protect your data

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information. Passwords are stored in encrypted form, and access to personal data is restricted to authorized systems and staff. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us run GradsLink (such as email delivery and analytics), only as needed and under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GradsLink and its users.

Your choices

  • Edit or delete your profile information at any time from your profile page.
  • Control which details appear on your public profile.
  • Delete your account and associated data through your account settings.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails where the option is provided.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide GradsLink's services. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to keep it for legal reasons.

Children's privacy

GradsLink is designed for graduates and adults seeking professional opportunities. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email and update the "Last updated" date above.
